COLLINS, Beverley J.
Beverley J. Collins of Sun City, Roseville, passed on Friday, July 27, 2012 at age 83. Bev was born on November 30, 1928 in Palo Alto, California. She graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1946. She attended Stockton Junior College, Oregon State, and received her BA from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California in 1950.
She married Robert R Collins on June 24, 1950 and raised three children. She taught Home Economics in Stockton and McFarland and substituted in elementary schools in Delano. The family moved to Coalinga in 1967 and Bev taught 2nd grade in Huron. She finally found her niche teaching kindergarten in Huron and Coalinga. Beverley was a devoted and conscientious teacher and taught for a total of 30 years.
She retired and eventually moved to Sun City Roseville which she called her 'senior Disneyland,' enjoying friends, activities, and cocktail parties.
She is survived by her three children; Robert Randall Collins and his wife Andrea, Bradford James Collins and his wife Buff, and Melissa Collins Magnusson (who's husband is deceased), and a total of 8 grandchildren.
Beverley had a love of knowledge, life, family, and friends. She loved to read, and was quick to orchestrate a party for any occasion. Beverley has left a void here on earth, but as of July 27, her family believes Heaven just got a whole lot more interesting.
