KERN, Thelma M.
Passed away peacefully on July 23, 2012.
She was born January 6, 1930 in Tahlequah, OK, the sixth child of James and Mae Chancellor. She moved to Reedley, CA, as a teenager and graduated from Reedley High School and later the nursing school of Sierra College in Rockland, CA.
She spent many years working first as a nurses aide and then as a licensed vocational nurse for hospitals in Amarillo, TX, Sparks, NV, and Fresno, and Roseville, CA while raising her children with her former husband. She loved her home, her dog 'Tink', gardening, and the company of her good friends and family.
She is survived by a sister, Van Reynalds of Reedley, CA; daughters, Lyn (Ren) Rindone of Fair Oaks, CA, and Carrie (Steve Mitchell) Limbo of Clackamas, OR; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
At her request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Alzheimer Society. The family would like to thank everyone who helped in the care of Thelma and added peace and dignity to her final days.
