
WHEELER, Arlene Webster
Born February 14, 1923 in Ogden, UT to George and Emily (Minnie) Webster. She passed peacefully on July 29, 2012. Beloved wife of 55 years to Arnold Howard Wheeler. Moved to Sacramento to attend California Junior High School and C.K. McClatchy High School through her Junior year. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1941. After their marriage in the Salt Lake Temple in 1942, they had two girls, Lynda Lee Alei and Camille King, both born in Ogden, UT. Both Arlene and Arnold obtained their private pilot's licenses and worked at the Charlesworth Flight School teaching WWII veterans how to fly. They moved the family to Sacramento in 1948. She went to work at Sacramento City College as well as volunteering at local hospitals for the Red Cross as a Medical Assistant and as a Nurse's Aide. She then worked at the CSEA and finally with New York Life Insurance. After retiring in 1966, she loved bowling at Land Park Bowling Alley and playing golf. She was also the Captain of the Ladies Team at Land Park Golf Course. She loved camping, hunting, fishing, dancing and playing cards with both friends and family. She leaves behind her 2 daughters and a son-in-law, 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren who loved her very much. She requested that there be no services.
