VORESIS, Nikolaos Pavlo
Aug. 15, 1950 - Aug. 14, 2012
Nicko fell asleep peacefully on August 14, 2012 after a tough battle with cancer. He was a caring, generous man who was loved by all who knew him. Nicko was born to Pavlo and Eleni Voresis in Zankynthos, Greece on August 15, 1950. At the age of 16, he began working on a cruise ship in Greece and served in the Greek Navy. In 1976, Nicko immigrated to the United States and lived in Sacramento until his passing. Amongst his numerous accomplishments, he was most proud of his three wonderful children, his involvement in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation, and the business he built from the ground-up, Delta Landscape Services, Inc.
Nicko's many passions included tending to his half-acre garden, deep sea fishing in his boat, traveling to his homeland of Greece every summer to relax with family, and entertaining in his backyard while cooking lamb over an open fire. He made it a priority to help anyone in need. Nicko was an active member in the Greek Orthodox Church, serving as President to both the Parish Council and GAPA at his passing.
Nicko is survived by his wife, Cally, and three children, Pavlo, Nicki, and Vasili. He is also survived by his mother and five siblings, as well as their families. Nicko dearly loved his family and friends and will be missed greatly. May his memory be eternal!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greek Orthodox Church for a newly created fund, per Nicko's wishes, to help feed the hungry.
