
HARPER, Michael Edward

Age 65, born on May 28, 1947 in Hinsdale, IL. to Irvin E. and Doris (Baldwin) Harper. He passed after a 7 week battle with cancer at his home in Antelope, CA. He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 40 years, Kristi; his son Neil E. Harper (Desiree); his daughter Victoria A. Harper; grandson Grayson E. Harper; sister Diane Case; brother Dennis Harper of Wyoming; also three nieces, two nephews and many more loving family members. He was raised a RR son in Kirby, Wyoming from the age of 2 where he attended a 1 room school house until age 14, then went on to Thermopolis High. He joined the USAF in 1967 and served 1 year in Pleiku, Vietnam; he was then stationed at Travis AFB where he met Kristi in November 1970. In 1972 Mike returned to Guernsey, Wyoming where he married Kristi and became a machinist for BNRR for 17 years. In 1989 he and his family returned to California. He worked for California Backyard, 10 years, then began working for the Office of State Publishing (the past 13 years). He also loved working on trains, again with Drummac/Amtrak, for the past 15 years. Mike enjoyed working on his home, puttering in his garage and most of all relaxing with his guitar trying to get the tunes right. He was well loved by all, including his 5 cats! A celebration of his life will be held at Lambert's Funeral Home on Saturday, 09-22-12 at 3 p.m.
