Katherine (Kay) Van Slambrouck passed away peacefully at her home in San Jose, September 6th. The family will hold a private service. Mrs. Van Slambrouck was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Robert Van Slambrouck. Mr. Van Slambrouck served as both advertising and marketing director for the Sacramento Bee and McClatchy Newspapers. They resided in Sacramento from 1957-1979, before retiring to Bodega Bay. Kay was an accomplished painter whose work appeared in a number of exhibitions. She also spent many years serving as a Christian Science Practitioner. Kay's kindness and great capacity for love is her ongoing gift to her four children, Susan Moore of Las Vegas, Mike Van Slambrouck of Davis, Paul Van Slambrouck of San Francisco, and Barbara Flynn of Larchmont, NY, her seven grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
