KURTZ, Gloria Ann Gutierrez
Born 25 October 1950 in South San Francisco, CA to Carol Martinez and Cruz Gutierrez. Passed away September 15, 2012 at Mission Carmichael Care Home at age 61 from kidney failure. She is survived by her husband Don, sons Brian and Matthew, and many relations in the San Francisco bay area and one brother in Utah.
Gloria graduated from All Souls H.S. in 1968. She started working for the FAA at age 16 via a ROP program. She progressed shortly to an Air Traffic Controllers position at Marysville Tower and Sacramento (Metro) Tower, California. Most of her 29 year Federal Govt. employment was at the Sacramento Army Depot and later the Social Security Admin.
Her singular joy in life was her 2 sons and large extended family. As a young adult she would take her younger brothers and sisters on short travel and camping trips. Later her 2 sons would experience the joy of many camping trips.
Our family thanks all of Kaiser Medical staff in Sacramento, doctors, nurses and numerous staff that extended and improved Gloria's quality of life, Mission Carmichael Health Care which has been her home for 12 years since being struck by a major stroke. All the kindness from Mission Carmichael staff for all the years is appreciated beyond words.
Viewing will be at Lind Brothers Funeral Home, 4221 Manzanita Ave., Carmichael, CA on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Rosary and viewing at Garden Chapel 885 El Camino Real, S. San Francisco, CA on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers take a loved one out to dinner.
