TRIFFO, William Joseph
Elk Grove, CA
William Joseph Triffo (Bill), 91, passed away on September 12, 2012, at home in Elk Grove, CA, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born May 24, 1921, in Binghamton, NY to Jacob and Eva (Kaim) Triffo.
Bill grew up in Binghamton and graduated from North High School. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942 where he served as a mechanic. Following in his father's footsteps, Bill worked for Kroehler Furniture for over 40 years. It was at Kroehlers that Bill met the first love of his life, Theresa (Nemec) Triffo. Together they had 5 children and 14 grandchildren.
Bill was always there to help anyone who needed his assistance. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and watching sports, but above all he enjoyed people and loved to play cards. He had a great sense of humor, a positive outlook on life and a way of accepting everyone for who they were. Bill was a devout Catholic and truly lived his faith. To Bill, family was foremost, and he will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Bill will be missed by many, particularly by the second love of his life, Regina 'Jean' Triffo, his children Gary (Linda) Triffo, Karen (Ron) Alonzo, Patty (Jerry) Foote, Cindy Triffo, and Rick (Tammy) Triffo; also by his fourteen grandchildren as well as many great grandchildren. Bill was also dearly loved by Jean's large family, the members of his church and his community as a whole.
A rosary and vigil service will be held Friday evening, September 21, for close friends and family, followed by a funeral mass, September 22, 12:30 pm, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, located at 9539 Raquet Court, Elk Grove, CA 95758 (916) 684-5722. East Lawn Elk Grove Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, please have a Mass intention said for the repose of the soul of Bill Triffo.
