
DURAN, Alicia Christine, PhD. 02/19/1953 to 10/01/2012
Dr. Alicia Christine Duran passed away peacefully on October 1, 2012, after a three-year battle with breast cancer, in her hometown Sacramento, California. She was 59 years old. She was a devoted wife to her husband Roger Harold Stoker for 24 years. She will be dearly missed by her parents Max Duran (Teresa) and Mary Scordakis and her siblings and their families: Laura Colozzi (Michael), Linda Duran, Ken Duran (Patrice), Michael Scordakis (Wendy), George Scordakis (Elaine), Fernando Villa (Vanessa), and Guillermo Villa (Blanca). She leaves behind her loving niece Lisa Adda (Jerry); and handsome nephews Jim Boyd (Joanna, son Phoenix), Greg Duran (Amy), Michael Colozzi, Jr. (Lea, daughter Madison), Kenneth, Alexander and Jonathan Scordakis. Alicia will also be remembered by her sister-in-law Carol Stoker (Larry) and by her large and close-knit family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and her many devoted friends.
Alicia earned her PhD. in Clinical Psychology at the APA accredited University of Utah in 1987. She held various administrative positions in the mental health care field in Utah, Oregon and Washington.
Alicia's interests were skiing, traveling and spending time with their dog, Kristin.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, October 13, 2012, 11:00 a.m., at W. F. Gormley & Sons, 2015 Capitol Avenue, Sacramento, California.
