RODDA, Laurena Eva
Laurena, a native of Sacramento, was born on November 24, 1912 and passed on September 19, 2012.
She was a homemaker and widow of Richard H. Rodda, a political editor for the McClatchy Newspapers. Laurena was a past president of the Tuesday Club and was in charge of the Tuesday Club rental gallery at the Crocker Art Museum. She devoted many years to working with Meals on Wheels and was an extensive world traveler.
Laurena was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Richard H. Rodda; parents, Eva and Andrew Scott; brother, Raymond A. Scott and sister, Dorothy M. Scott. She is survived by daughters, Kathryn King of Sacramento and Gayle Rodda Kurtz of New York City; son, Scott Rodda and wife Judy of Tahoe City, CA; cherished grandmother of Katie Kurtz, Susannah Kurtz, Ann Moll, David Rodda, Richard Rodda, Sarah Rodda and eight great grandchildren.
Friends are welcome to attend memorial services on November 17 at 11:00 am at the First Christian Church, 3901 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento.
