Born April 3, 1919 in Sacramento, CA, the son of Jiro and Kichi Okada. Eugene peacefully entered into his final resting place on September 21, 2012 at his home. Eugene leaves his loving elder sister Agnes Kojima of Hyogo Ken, Japan, his nephew Yukio Kojima, his grand-nieces Akiko & Keiko Kojima, as well as many other relatives in Japan. Eugene was labeled in 1968 by the Sacramento Union as "MR. BOWLING" since he was the most important man in Sacramento bowling. Eugene began bowling in 1939 and his love of the game grew ever since. He served as President of the Sacto Bowling Assn and the Nisei Bowling Assn; Organizer of the N. Cal. Nisei Bowling Federation; officer of the South Bowl and Land Park Nisei Leagues. Eugene also served as a Board Member of the Sacramento Buddhist Church and President of the Senator Lions Club. He was also the last surviving 1954 Charter member of the Senator Lions Club. Eugene worked 10 hours a day, 6 days a week at his oriental gift shop called the YOROZU which was originally established in Sacramento over 95 years ago. Eugene will be sorely missed and he leaves behind many fun and lasting memories for all of us. A memorial service will be held to honor Eugene at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Sacramento Buddhist Church located at 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, CA.
