MAGGARD, Michael Dale
Michael Dale Maggard, born October 9, 1945 in Taft, CA passed away at the age of 67 on October 23, 2012 at his home in Antelope, CA after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Patricia Maggard, his daughter, Michelle (Rick) Williams, of Sacramento, CA, his son, Michael Jr. (Bonnie) Maggard, of Citrus Heights, his sister, Carol Sanchez and brother, David Maggard of Santa Ana, CA, his grandchildren, Patricia Ladd, Nicholas Maggard, Kristina Williams and Kevin Williams and numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Vivian Maggard and sister Sonja Manoli.

A veteran of the US Army, he served on active duty from Nov 1965 - April 1987 in numerous places around the world as an ADP Maintenance Supervisor and Communications Electronic Operations Chief. After retirement from active duty he went on to serve with the Army as a Civil Servant at the Sacramento Army Depot and Fort Huachuca, AZ for 20 more years, retiring October 2007.

He was a member of the Rancho Cordova Elks #2484 for 25 years, and other organizations with the Sacramento area. He was an avid golfer who loved to be outdoors with friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at East Lawn Mortuary Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10 o'clock in the morning. Interment will immediately follow the services. Family and Friends are invited to participate in a Celebration of Life gathering following interment at St. Francis Hall.
