
BERGSTROM, Gerald
Born June 20, 1926, in Tuolumne, CA; passed away October 29, 2012, in Sacramento, CA, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 65 years to Muriel Bergstrom. Wonderful father of and greatly missed by son Neil Bergstrom and his wife Linda and son Roy Bergstrom. Loving grandfather of and greatly missed by grandchildren Adam Bergstrom, Kristin Sexton and her husband James, Jared Bergstrom and his wife Eryn, and Lisa Bergstrom. Also survived by two beloved sisters, Beverly Harland and Laura Brittain. Preceded in death by loving mother and father, Lydia and Bert Bergstrom. Jerry was a decorated veteran of WWII and served in the Navy's air division as a radioman and top gunner on a B24 Liberator bomber stationed on the island of Palawan in the Philippines. Jerry worked at lumber mills, ran crane at a steel mill, was a dispatcher for a fire department, and retired from the Sacramento Army Depot. He was a graduate of Sacramento State College in Business Administration. Jerry loved hunting, fishing, travelling with his wife, sports, being with family and friends. He served as a Deacon and Royal Ambassador for the Baptist Church. He will be forever loved and missed by those who knew him.
A viewing will be held Saturday, November 3rd starting at 3:00 PM, at Lind Brothers Funeral Home, 4221 Manzanita Avenue, Carmichael, CA 95608 ((916) 482-8080). Services will be held in the chapel at Lind Brothers Funeral Home starting at 3:30 after the viewing. A reception will follow immediately after the service at the nearby Carmichael Elks Lodge, 5631 Cypress Avenue, Carmichael, CA.
