CO, Consuelo Yu
Of Sacramento, California died peacefully and surrounded by family on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, after a courageous fight against kidney cancer.
Consuelo was born on February 22, 1942, to Santiago and Leoniza Yu in Manila, Philippines. She excelled in her studies and as a track and field sprinter. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Paul University in Manila.
Consuelo moved to the United States of America in 1972, and began working for Nationwide Insurance Company (formerly Cal-Farm Insurance Company) where she was a committed commercial underwriter until she retired in 2009.
Consuelo enjoyed traveling the world, hosting gatherings at her home, and being an active member of the St. Philomene Catholic Church. Above all else, she cherished spending quality time with her three daughters, seven grandchildren, and family and friends.
Consuelo is survived by her husband, Chin Bing; her daughters Annalisa, Doralynn, and Ederlina and their husbands Mark, Scott, and Jeremy; her grandchildren Naomi, Caleb, Malaya, Jedi, Abigail, Mirasol, and Onyx; and her sisters Norma, Consuelo, Esparanza, and Emelita and brother Roberto.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013, at St. Philomene Catholic Church. The viewing will take place at 12:30 pm, and the funeral mass will begin at 2:00 pm followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Philomene Catholic Church.
