LONG II, Forrest Warren
RN, FNP
Born in Portage, WI on July 13, 1954, passed away on Jan. 20, 2013, peacefully in his sleep at his Rancho Murieta residence.
Preceded in death by his parents Forrest and Louisa Long. Forrest is survived by his loving wife Cathy of 26 years and canine companion Jake. He is also survived by his sister Roxanne, brothers Michael, Nathan, Aaron, nieces and nephews.
After graduating from Rio Linda High, Forrest served in the Army, Third Armored Div. He was a graduate of UCD School of Medicine, FNP/PA Program and earned his Master's in Nursing. Forrest devoted his career to the Sacramento Area beginning at Methodist Hospital, Mercy and Sacramento County Clinics. He was also Clinical Faculty at UCD. Forrest was employed at US Department of Veteran's Affairs as the ER Dept. Nurse Manager. Forrest's zest for life included his love for his wife, family, friends, and country. He enjoyed wine, gourmet food, golf, fly fishing and RVing.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Jan 26, 11:00 a.m. at Sacramento VA Medical Center's Auditorium, 10535 Hospital Way, Mather 95655. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, SPCA, or Sierra Club.
