Born Dec. 19, 1953 in San Francisco and taken from us way too soon on Jan. 23, 2013. Steve moved to Sacramento with his family at age 14 and has resided here ever since. He leaves behind his wife Dorothy (Dot) of 23 years who wants to add that "We will be together again and we will rejoice in the lord together - Lots of love, Wife". He was a fun and loving dad to: Kirsten and her husband Bill, Nathan, and Angela and stepfather to Kim and husband Steve and Scott and wife Christine. A wonderful grandpa to: Charley, Gus, Nik, Brandon, Steven and wife Sara, Isaac and Matt, Kevin, Breck and Kade. A beloved great grandpa to Lilly and Bella. Steve is also survived by his mother Katherine, his sister Mary and her husband Gary. Steve is preceded in death by his father Charles and his heavily loved and missed brothers; James and Doug. Steve was a remarkable journalist who loved the profession with a passion. Starting at The Sacramento Union Newspaper (nicknamed as Ernie-D) at the bottom as a bill collector in '73 and worked his way up to Associate News Editor, staying at The Union till the day they shut the doors in '94. While his health forced him to have an early retirement he still found a way to live life to the fullest, with his family, his love of sports, his dogs and friends. The family would like to invite anyone who knew Steve to attend his Memorial Tues. Jan. 29th at 2pm held at Faith United Methodist Church at 3600 J St.
