HECKES, Ruth E.
Born March 9, 1914, died peacefully at her home on February 4, 2013. A long time resident of Sacramento, Ruth worked along side her late husband, Carl Heckes, a respected real estate builder in Sacramento for 40 years. She was an avid flower arranger, paper mache artist, and an influential, long standing member of the Shepard (Sacramento) Garden and Arts Center, winning many awards for her creative and unique style. Ruth traveled the world on cruise ships, enjoying ballroom dancing and bridge, where she met and remarried the late Gordon Partridge. Sharp and witty, Ruth was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her son, John Heckes, survived by her three grandchildren: John R. Heckes, Brenda L. Heckes and Robert D. Heckes, and by her four great grandchildren: Steven, Hazel, Iris, and Cora Heckes. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 9, 10am at East Lawn Memorial, 5757 Greenback Lane. A celebration of her life will be held at her home immediately following the funeral.
