Lillian Howe, 81, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2013. She was born on February 11, 1931 to Charles and Lillian Leukel of Brooklyn, New York. Lillian has been a resident of Sacramento for 54 years.
Lillian married the love of her life, Raymond Howe, 61 years ago. Lillian enjoyed the beach, bowling, floating down the American River, golfing and singing. She was a past PTA president, Boy Scout & Camp Fire Girls leader as well as unofficial 'social director' for Sac Co Fraud & Investigations. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family deeply, and will be greatly missed by them.
Lillian is survived by her children, Linda (Bob) Justice, Karen Hunter, Steven Howe, Janice (Blake) Smith, and David (Mary Ann) Howe; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lillian and husband, Raymond Howe. It is important to note that Lil passed away on her late husband's birthday. They are together again.
A memorial service for Lillian will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 10:00 am at Christ Community Church, 5025 Manzanita Ave in Carmichael. A celebration will follow at 3921 Woodpointe Cir. Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Effie Yeaw Nature Center, at Ancil Hoffman Park www.sacnaturecenter.net,
