FAGERNAS, Dale F.

Dale was born in Eureka, CA to Gladys Chase and Ernest Fagernas, who predeceased him.
He attended grade schools in Eureka, and upon graduation attended Humboldt State College in Arcata, CA. Dale served in the U.S. Military as a Navy Corpsman, attached to the 1st Marine Division.
In 1953, he moved with his wife and daughter to Sacramento where he attended and graduated from Sacramento State University.
In 1957, Dale moved to Spain where he did post graduate studies at the University of Barcelona, School of Fine Arts, where also had an exhibit of his works.
Upon return to the U.S. in 1964, Dale taught art at Mira Loma High School in the San Juan School District for 28 years.
Besides enjoying cooking, good food, good wine and good friends, he loved traveling with his most recent trips to Egypt, Turkey and Spain where he & his wife visited with many old friends.
In addition to leaving his wife of 61 years (Barbara Lindstrom), he leaves behind his daughter, Pamela (Bill) Swayze; granddaughter, Melanie Swayze Martin; grandson and wife, Tyrel and Cassie Swayze; and three great-grandchildren, Tyrel Martin, Cael Martin and Mia Swayze.
Dale will be deeply missed by his family who adored him as well as many devoted friends and neighbors too numerous to list.
Family services will be held at a later date. Remembrances may be made to an organization of your choice.
