On February 27, 2014, Kris Welsh passed away, with family at her bedside, at the age of 61 as a result of complications due to the H1N1 flu. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Steven Welsh, as well as her son Bryan Welsh and his wife Dana; grandchildren Tyler, Emma and Hailey; sister Patty Coates; many other close family members. She is preceded in death by her daughter Amy and son Aaron. She balanced a dis- tinguished 27 year career with the Franchise Tax Board (where she leaves behind many good friends) along with co-ownership, with Steve, of Artistic Collision Center. This went hand in hand with their love of classic cars and she leaves behind many good friends that shared her enjoyment of the hot rod car culture. Kris also enjoyed crafting home made goods which she gifted to family and friends during the holidays. As an avid San Francisco Giants fan, she enjoyed attending games with Steve and the rest of her orange and black family. Anyone that had the opportunity to cross paths with Kris knew what a kind, caring person she was and couldnt help but love her for the giving individual that she was. Family & friends are invited to a memorial service on March 5th at 2:00 PM at East Lawn, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA 95841. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or the Capital City AIDS Fund in Kris's name.
