George "Shorty" Russell 76yrs old of Rancho Cordova, past away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 4, 2014 He is now reunited with his best friend, lover and soul mate Susan Russell. He will forever be the towering lighthouse that will watch over us and keep us safe until it is our time, to follow the ever burning and turning light he will send for us to come back home. George "Shorty" Russell after graduating from High school worked from 1956 & 1957 as a Mover with Bekins Moving & Storage, and from 1958 to 1962 He was in the Navy where he was a Aviation/Hydraulic Structural Mechanic, after receiving a Honorable Discharge from the Navy. In 1963 he became a Truck Driver for Bekins. And on June 8th 1963 he married Susan Campbell. In 1972 he became a Dispatcher for Bekins and In 1988 he became there Local Manager. In 1996 he left Bekins to finish his career with Sacramento Theatrical & Lightning as a Freight Manager for Expo's and Conventions. He retired in 2008. He leaves behind his Daughters Cindy Marker and Husband John, Lori Brooks and Husband Keith, Son Larry Russell, Grandchild Micheal Marker and Wife Erica and Great Grandchildren Jordan & Cheyenne. He is survived by his sisters Gayle Hennrich and Ruth LaMarca.
