VASILJ, Candis Lee (Davis)

Candis passed away peacefully at her home on March 21, 2014. She was born in Roseville to Laurie and Shirley Davis. She attended Roseville schools, graduating from Roseville High School in 1967. She was an energetic Cheerleader and Songleader for the Tigers.

After graduation, she began working for the Bank of America when she remained for 34 years.

Candis was crazy about golf. She loved golf and for many years she was a member of Sunset Whitney Country Club and, most recently, Sierra View Country Club winning many tournaments and 'charms.' She loved the friendship of those with whom she played. As a member of the Northern California Women's Golf Association, Candis played in many tournaments around the state.

Candis was predeceased by her parents and her step-son Marko Vasilj. She is survived by her loving husband Joe Vasilj, her daughter-in-law Barbie and her grandchildren Vivian and Ginger.
She is also survived by her sister Sharon Minarich (Bill), nephews Rick and Bill Minarich, niece Wendy McKitrick (Kevin), great niece Lindsey McKitrick and grand nephew Christian McKitrick.

She leaves behind many relatives and close friends, especially golfing partners from Sunset Whitney and Sierra View CC.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 27th, 11:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 615 Vine Avenue in Roseville, followed by interment in the Roseville District Cemetery. A celebration of life will begin at 1:00 pm at the Croatian American Cultural Center at 3730 Auburn Boulevard, Sacramento. Friends and family are invited to stop by. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to honor Candis may send donations to the Croatian Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 290, San Ramon, CA. 94583.
