LEE, Theodore 'Ted'
Born in Perkins, California, the son of William W. Lee and Sallie (Leone) Lee, and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. Ted was a natural athlete and loved baseball. Following his service in the Navy, he was scouted by an agent to play baseball as a pitcher for a California minor league team. Having a strong work ethic, Ted realized that he needed to return to work full-time at Sacramento Golden State Laundry. It was there where he met the love of his life, Marie Puccinelli. They were married for 65 years. In l947, Ted and Marie opened Top Hatters, a glovatorium business, where they worked until 2012. Ted retired at the age of 92 after the death of Marie in 2012. During his life, Ted enjoyed fishing, swimming, carpentry, Bonsai, dancing to 'Big Band' music, caring for his pets and Koi fish, and most of all . . . his family. He was an avid Oakland A's fan and was able to recite the batting averages of many of the players. Ted was a brother to Alfred Lee, Jack Clifford Lee, Robert W. Lee, Alice Nunes, Margaret Venezia and Barbara (Bobbie) Hembree. He was also a brother-in-law to Fred and Eva Belluomini, Edward and Stella Puccinelli, and Betty Lee. Ted was a loving uncle to Elaine Lucia and Bob, Judyann Belluomini-Collins and Bob Collins, Annamarie and Peter Bessette, Diane Pryt and Frank Rudnick, Cyndi Lee,Terria Martin, Sally Collins, Patti Nunes and Norman Nunes, great uncle to Ryan and Nick Lucia, Drew and Jack Bessette, Nicki and Jessi Pryt, and great-great uncle to Mackenzie and Lucca Lucia. Ted has touched all of our lives and we are truly blessed to have been a part of his family.
