Born on August 10, 1925 in Honolulu, HA, Roy passed away March 27, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Helen Johnson, his children Vic Johnson and Bernadette Smith, and his 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In his youth he played football, basketball, and ran track at Vallejo High School, earning a scholarship to St. Mary's College in Moraga. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he studied architecture and worked for several firms in the Bay Area. He was later named the director of building and grounds for the Vallejo Unified School District. He served in a similar capactiy for the San Juan and Sacramento school districts. After retirement, Roy built his dream house in Truckee, a legacy left for his family to treasure and care for. Remembrances in Roy's name may be made to the SPCA. A Rosary will be held April 11th, Friday, 7:00PM at Lind Brothers Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held April 12th, 11:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Carmichael.
