GOEMAN, Walter Joseph
87, passed away April 9, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Sacramento, after a sudden illness. He was born in Orange County, January 23, 1927 to the late Martin and Julia Goeman of Freeport, CA. After graduating from Clarksburg High School, he joined the Navy and is a veteran of WWII. Walter was employed by Aerojet in the 1960's until he started his own business. Over the years, Walter owned several local businesses, most notably the Rustic Lounge in south Sacramento. He was a Life Member of the VFW Post 1267, and served at the State Convention. Walter was practical and thrifty, yet he was blessed with luck and enjoyed gaming, and investing in stocks. He was appreciated by all for his sound advice and guidance. Walter is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Yvonne Rossi Goeman, and his children Kathleen Goeman Clifton, Paul Martin Goeman, Diane Goeman Ellis, and Charlotte Hess Darlington; as well 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was loved, and will be greatly missed by his family, his extended family and friends. A private burial service with Military Honors will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento.
