WHITTED, Shirley Ann Born July 28, 1929, passed away on June 27, 2014 after a 3 year battle with vascular dementia. Born in Kansas City, MO and raised in St. Joseph, MO, she moved to Sacramento in 1963, where she was a resident for 51 years. She was actively involved in PTA, little league, and all of her children's, grand children's and great grand children's activities. She was a homemaker and later worked for Century 21 Real Estate, Weinstock's Department Store, and she retired from the State of California in 1995. She was also a former member of the Unitarian Universalist Society. Her greatest accomplishment was being a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grand-mother. Ms. Whitted was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lewis Harper and Fay (DeShon) Harper, sister, Catherine Murawski, brother, Edward Lewis Harper, Jr, and her former husband, Clyde A. Whitted. She is survived by daughters Sharon (Jeff) Rabe of Elk Grove, Carol (John) Rebenstorff of Orangevale, sons David (Tammi) Whitted of Sacramento, James (Monica) Whitted of Portland, OR, nieces Kay and Eve Harper of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren Eric and Bryan Rebenstorff, Travis and Austin Whitted, & 4 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of her life on Friday, July 25, 2014, at 11:00am at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park and Mortuary, 8201 Greenback Lane, Fair Oaks, CA. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to KVIE Channel 6 or your local SPCA.
