ROMEO, Sarah (Morello) July 30, 1922 - August 29, 2014 Peacefully passed away on August 29, 2014, with her family at her side. Sarah is survived by her loving and devoted children Sal (Dorothy), Loretta (Dave) Cochrane, Francine Green, John and Joey (Courtney), ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and best friend Rosie Del Zompo, sister-in-laws Nell and Verena Morello, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Joe Romeo, parents John and Francesca Morello and brothers Joseph, Mario and Dominic. She also leaves behind several life-long friends who she cherished. Sarah was born and raised in San Francisco where she met her loving husband. They eloped on her 18th birthday and lived in San Francisco, Monterey and Santa Barbara before settling in Sacramento in 1956 to open a family business. In 1987, she assumed her husband's role at Romeo's Bait & Tackle Shop in Freeport until it was sold after 40 years. Sarah was a devoted mother, sis sis, grandma, grams, and to the younger generation, pasta grandma. She was amazingly strong and very full of life. She loved to cook Sunday dinners for her family, which she lovingly referred to as the Coxey's Army. She loved to shop, travel, sing to the oldies, and tell wonderful stories for the next generation to carry forward. Our family is blessed to have had her in our lives. She was a wonderful role model, friend, grandmother sister, aunt, mother-in-law, mom, and wife. Words cannot describe the void she has left so until we meet again: Goodnight our sweet Sarah, we will see you in our dreams. A rosary and mass will be held on September 5, at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarksburg. Immediately following the service, Sarah will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento and then family and friends are invited to her home for a celebration of her life. The family would like to thank Fijian In-Home Care and Sutter Hospice. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Association or
