CARTER, Dora Louvenia

Dora L. Carter was born to Fred Jennings and Mamie Stevens (both deceased) on August 28, 1921 in Athens, Georgia. She went on her journey home to meet with her Savior on March 27, 2009 at the age of 87 years. She was the oldest of seven children of which she is survived by three, Flossie Reed-Jennings, Ruth Allen-Clark, and William Allen. Her husband, James Carter, preceded her in death. She is also survived by seven of her eight children, Donna Gilkey, Charlene Wiseman, Kenneth Jennings, Carolyn Rutledge, Keith Jennings, Kelvin Carter, Cynthia Carter (deceased), and Phillip Carter (Lentice). She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Carter was raised and baptized in Middletown, Ohio and migrated to California in 1957. Visitation will be on Thursday April 2, 2009 from 5:00-8:00pm at Sacramento Memorial Lawn, 6100 Stockton Blvd. Funeral services will be held on Friday April 3 at 1:00pm in the chapel at the same address.
