BACHMAN, Marjorie Rose
Our precious wife, mother, and sister Marjorie Rose Bachman died at home on November 7, 2012 after a seven-week struggle with incurable cancer. She was 63 years old.
Margie is survived by husband Jerry Bachman; daughter Rachel Barker Petz (Julius); sisters Patricia Parker, Eva Crockett, and Liz van den Abeelen (Werner); sister-in-law Beth Niemi (Bill); step-children Rebecca Bachman-Wiest (Mark), Corey Bachman (Rachael) and Wesley Bachman; and many grandchildren, god-children, nieces and nephews.
Margie was born in Sacramento, California on March 19, 1949 to Paul and Dorothy Billings. The second of four daughters, Margie was a bright, energetic, and talented child. She was active in Girl Scouts and enjoyed many summers camping with her family in Mendocino County. Margie excelled scholastically and received an AA in Business from Cosumnes River College in Sacramento. She studied violin in her youth, which brought her to the art of fiddling in her later years.
Throughout Margie's forty-year career in the insurance industry she earned innumerable prestigious designations in her field. Margie was known by her colleagues and customers as a thorough and personable representative and always provided the highest quality service to her many clients. Although she was quite ill, Margie loyally worked her demanding case load until she received the terminal cancer diagnosis on September 17.
Margie and her loving husband Jerry enjoyed hiking, swimming, rafting, ocean, forest, parks, museums, films, family, home and just spending intimate time together as Margie's heavy work demands allowed.
