Conrad Chevez passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family 11 January 2013, following a courageous and noble battle with pancreatic cancer.
His family, colleagues, and students will always remember his smile, humor, and sense of fairness.
Conrad was not only an avid sports enthusiast and athlete, he mentored and inspired many generations of youth. He had a passion for sports all his life, particularly baseball. He was a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49ers & the San Francico Giants, never missing a game.
Devoted husband of 29 years to Patty, with whom he loved to travel. Loving son-in-law to Cecil & Ruth Milner; brother-in-law to Mike, Bill, Tim & Jon Milner; father to Jennifer, Jessica & John Lenz; proud grandfather of five beautiful granddaughters.
Conrad was born on May 15th, 1941 in Oakland. CA, to Benjamin & Marie Chavez. He was the 8th of 9 children. He will be sorely missed by his brothers and sisters, Anita Brennan. Daniel Chevez, Rae Gilmore, Ellie Rhodes, Lou Stang & Robert Chevez, also his godfather, Wayne Curiel. He was the adored uncle of numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, David & Benjamin Conrad was a dedicated scholar who attended Armijo H.S. & graduated from Berkeley H.S. He graduated from Cal State University. Hayward, with a B.A. in History.
Conrad worked 38 years for Travis Unified School District, as a principal, educator & coach. He will also be missed by the friends whose many lives he touched over the last 7 years as an assistant at the Neurological Rehab Center in Rocklin, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Sutter Hospice of Roseville.
