BROWN, Julian 'Jay'
Passed away peacefully at home on August 18th, 2013 at the age of 87. He was born on January 13, 1926 in Sacramento and attended Grant High School where he played basketball and baseball. He served in WWII with the Navy as a radio man and landed with the 5th Marine division in Iwo Jima. After the war, he worked at Shorrk Hardware, in the insurance industry and was a proud member of the Masons of Sacramento. He was active in the senior baseball league and loved playing golf. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Brown, and numerous family members. He loved to share stories and his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren who called him 'Poppi.' His strength, devotion to family and giving spirit will be forever missed. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 4:00pm at Sierra View Funeral Chapel, 6201 Fair Oaks Blvd. in Carmichael.
