FLORIAN, James Matthew
Jim was born on December 18, 1931 in Sacramento and passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2013. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Bonnie; his children Bonnie Childers, Patty (Rhea) Harris, Matt (Letty) Florian and Cherie (Rick) Wakelee; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Gladys Naake, many cousins, nephews and nieces.
Jim graduated from McClatchy High School in 1950, where he played football and ran track. In 1951, he joined the Air Force and served until 1955. After attending night school for 10 years, he graduated in 1966 from CSU, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He was a salesman with Scott-Naake Paper Co. for 50 years and retired in 2000.
Jim will best be remembered for his love of family and friends; his many remodeling projects; as an avid 49ers and sports fan; dirt bike riding, skiing, snow- mobiling, golfing and most of all, for his generosity, honesty and passionate debates. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9 from 4:30-7:00PM. A rosary will begin at 7:00PM at George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, CA. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, September 10, at 10:00AM at St. Robert's, 2243 Irvin Way, Sacramento, CA. Burial immediately fol- lowing at St. Mary's Cemetery.
