Clarence Eugene "Gene" Holiday was born January 20, 1931 in Harper, Kansas. He joined the Air Force in 1951. He married Kathleen Ann Burns in 1951 in Manchester, Oklahoma, a union that lasted almost 62 years. He served his country for 20 years before retiring. He had a second career as an electrician with the Folsom Cordova School District. He retired a second time in 1988. He and Kathy traveled extensively and enjoyed traveling with a group of good friends in their RVs. He was a generous man who would help strangers and family members alike. He was beloved by all who knew him. He had an amazing sense of humor. He was a patriot who loved his country and all it stood for. He was a devoted Christian and was looking forward to being in the arms of his Lord. He suffered with cancer for over 3 years before he lost the fight November 14, 2013. He is remembered with love by his wife Kathy, daughters Anita Gail, Beverly (Rich), and Sherrilyn (Dana), five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ronnie, and his brother Ted. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Services will be Friday, December 27 at 11 a.m. at Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church, 5839 Dewey Drive, Citrus Heights. He will be interned in the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California.
