BATT, Edward Paul
November 22, 2013, in Huntington Beach, CA, at the age of 80 years and 1 day, Edward Paul Batt went home to be with God. Ed and his adoring wife Laure celebrated their 20th anniversary in October on a 2-week cruise to Hawaii. The entire family celebrated Ed's birthday the night before he passed away, with his wife at his side.
In Sacramento, Ed was well known, hosting singles dances for the 40+ age group in the 1970s, 80s & 90s at Coco Palms & other venues. It was at Coco Palms where he met the love of his life, Laure. Ed and Laure moved to Lodi, CA in 1999 where Ed grew wine grapes, crafted wine and bought and restored classic cars. In 2011 they moved to Huntington Beach to be close to his children. Soon after, he was diagnosed with a debilitating illness.

Ed was born in Akron, Ohio November 21, 1933. He was a veteran of the Korean War, and was the first in his family to gain a college education, graduating from San Jose State College in 1957. He leaves his wife Laurene 'Laure'; his son Garrick 'Rick' Batt (wife Robin), his daughter L'Oreal Battistelli, son Kenneth Batt; grandson Brandon Batt (wife Melissa), grandaughters Christina Batt, Lauren Batt, Allison Ottsman (husband Eric), Allison Apel, and grandson Shane Swanberg; great-grandsons Gavin and Brody Batt. His extended family includes un-official 'adopted daughter' Linda Mendoza Garcia, and daughters Madeleine and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents Peter and Pauline Batt, his sister Barbara Fields, and his sister Paula Assali.
His family & friends agree: to know Ed was to love a wonderful man. Memorial services to be private.
