FINCH, Walter Fredrick
'Walt'
March 9, 1926 - Feb. 3, 2014

Walt was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Walter S. Finch and Alma (Reemts). He passed away on February 3, 2014 at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his sister Darlene, his wife Thelma Finch (Sally), daughters Gerry, Connie, Kathy, Bobbi, son Dennis and 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Jo and son Michael. Walt grew up in Sacramento and graduated from McClatchy High School. Walt was in the Army/Air Corps, 5th Recon Squadron and attained the rank of Sergeant. When he came back to Sacramento he went to college and began a long career as an Accountant. Walt was a member and past President of the California Accountants Society, the Lions Club and Toastmasters. Walt loved to camp, fish, back pack, fly and was a World traveler. A service will be held at East Lawn on Greenback Lane on Feb. 28, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 5361 Cypress Ave, Carmichael. Food and a dance band will be provided. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the of Sacramento in Walt's name.
