Born Salt Lake City,passed 3/20/14 at age 78 from heart failure & Alzheimer's. Survived by wife Barbara Le Pera;step-father Everett Nichols;son Courtney Stacey;daughter Syrianne Riches;brothers J. Stephen Stacey,Maurice Stacey (Virginia);grandchildren Dustin,Devin,Samantha;brother-in-law John Le Pera(Alda);sister-in-law Linda Frey;2 great-grandchildren,nieces & nephews. Graduated Univ of Utah & CA Med Ctr of San Francisco, College of Pharmacy.Moved to Bakersfield & became actively involved in politics.Elected to California State Assembly(28th District)3 terms where he established Red Rock Canyon as State Park,as well as other contributions.Moved to Sacramento & began his career as a lobbyist for several organizations including CA Pharmacist Assoc.Continued work as a pharmacist;volunteered for numerous local committees;helped establish Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary;& worked at numerous collegiate & celebrity golf tournaments.Loved golf,fantasy football,family cruises,jazz festivals,wine clubs,& his cats.In lieu of flowers please send contributions to Happy Tails,6001 Folsom Blvd,Sac 95819 or SSPCA. A Celebration of Life will be held at All Hallows Catholic Church Hall, 5500 14th Ave at 11:00am on May 7th.
