Harold GLUCKMAN Obituary

Stu Gluckman, age 74, passed away on Sep 6, 2016. Stu was born, Feb 15, 1942 in Pontotoc County Oklahoma, to Louis and Nell Gluckman. Stu grew up in Ada Oklahoma, attended Ada High School and graduated from OSU. Stu served his country honorably as an Officer in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his continued 15 year service in the Army Reserve, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Stu began his civil career as a Public Safety Officer with the Redondo Beach PD. He settled in Sacramento to start a family with his wife Lan in 1975 and raised two sons, Nathan and Eric. Stu worked for the CA Dept of Justice from 1975 until his retirement in 2001. Stu's desire to help others led him to start his own business, "Spirits Rising Massage Therapy". He volunteered and gave to many charitable organizations. Stu had a great affection for horses and in recent years volunteered much of his time with local horse rescues. Stu was a proud grandpa who adored his granddaughter Ayana and loved interacting and playing with her. Stu Gluckman is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years Lan Gluckman, his two sons and his granddaughter; Nathan and wife Elizabeth, and Eric and wife Chinar and their daughter Ayana. Also survived by his loving sister Sandra and nieces Leslie and Aliza and their families, his cousin Jenny and her daughter Sarah and family, as well as many nephews, nieces and in-laws who loved and admired him. A 30 minute military funeral service will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 beginning promptly at 10:30AM, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd. Dixon CA 95620. Oh, Stu, we were friends for 50 years. I miss your Sunbeam and your concertina and your match-head rockets. But most of all I'm gonna miss you, buddy.

Rest in peace,

I knew Stu for many years through our work for the Department of Justice/Attorney General's Office. He was a loyal and dedicated employee and always approached his work with enthusiasm and real interest. He enjoyed the friendship of many colleagues and will not be forgotten. My sympathy and wishes to the family for the comfort of happy memories.
