John Holmdahl Obituary
Sacramento, California on July 17, 2017. John was born on April 18, 1924 in San Francisco, California. After serving in the US Army during World War II he graduated from the University of California School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. Having an abiding interest in politics, John served on the Oakland City
Council from 1955 to 1958 and was then elected as California State Senator for Alameda County. John continued to serve in that capacity until 1982, at which time he was appointed as an Associate Justice on the California First District Court of Appeals where he remained until retiring in 1990.
He was interred at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California. John is survived by his wife of 26 years, Marianne Holmdahl, of Sacramento and by four children and three step-children.
