Dwight Tompkins Obituary

Dwight E. Tompkins, 63, Sacramento, CA, died Monday, August 14, 2017 after a 5 year battle with Alzheimer's. He was born June 11, 1954 to Phyllis Duncan and Doyle Tompkins. He married Mary DeVore, November 21, 1976. They had one daughter, Kimberly McNamara. The majority of his professional career was with Walsworth Publishing Co., having working relationships with Charles Munger, Hugh O'Brien and the Reagan Library, where Mr. Tompkins was a guest at the unveiling of Air Force One ceremony. Mr. Tompkins was preceded in death by his mother. He is survived by his wife, Mary; daughter, Kimberly (Kevin) McNamara; granddaughter, Brynn; father, Doyle Tompkins, Maryville, MO; Sister, Brenda Ryan, Mound City, MO and his DeVore family. The family would like to express great appreciation for Dwight's wonderful Doctor, Craig Ruggles, and the Sutter Hospice team for all of their assistance and support. Celebration of Life Services will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30 at the Bartley Cavanaugh Club House in Freeport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Candlelight Foundation, WaterStone, 10807 New Allegiance Dr., Suite 240, Colorado Springs, CO 80921

I just read of Dwight's passing in the Northwest Alumni magazine. I'm shocked and saddened; I recall such great times at NWMSU with him and Mary. I've often thought of you and would love to be in touch again.
