SALAMANCA – Shirley A. Weatherly, 79, of Swan Street passed away Wednesday (Jan. 9, 2013), at her home.
She was born March 5, 1933, in Salamanca, the daughter of the late Claude and Ester Booth.
On Dec. 27, 1951, she married Leonard Weatherly who survives. Mrs. Weatherly had worked at the family grocery store, Leonard's Grocery in Salamanca, for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Salamanca.
Besides her husband of 61 years, she is survived by a son, Daniel (Barbara) Weatherly of Kansas, City, Kansas; three daughters, Elizabeth Weatherly of Northeast, Pa., Carol (Jim) Johnston) Ellis of Salamanca, and Nancy (Michael) Kaye of Warren, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Megan, Jordan, LJ, Paul Thomas, Amanda, Andrew and Amy; and two great-grandchildren, Giovanni and Amilia. Also surviving is a sister, Dorothy of Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Ralph and three sisters, Jeanne, Virginia and Doris.
Friends called at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley, N.Y. on Saturday (Jan. 12, 2013), from 2:30-3 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. from the funeral home.
Burial will be in Crawford Cemetery in Salamanca.

I remember the Weatherlys' store. Mom often sent me there to pick up bread or milk when we ran out. My condolences to the family. May peace surround you at this time.
