OVIEDO, Fla. - Helen Foster of Lutheran Haven Assisted Living Facility in Oviedo, Fla. went to her heavenly home on Thursday (June 6, 2013).
She was born on Sept. 3, 1918, in Little Valley, the daughter of John and Augusta Buelow. She married Allan Foster on Aug. 18, 1939. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2009.
Mrs. Foster was a homemaker and worked in several different offices, retiring from Dahlstrom Mfg. in Jamestown. She and her husband were charter members of Chautauqua Squares dancing group and continued square dancing for 35 years.
She and her husband were active members of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Little Valley. Upon their retirement in 1975, they moved to Sarasota, Fla. where they were active members of Concordia Lutheran Church. In 1990, she and her husband moved to Lutheran Haven Retirement Center in Oviedo and joined St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
She was predeceased by her husband, Allan, in 2009; daughter, Karen, in 1966; her parents; and her brother, Herman.
Mrs. Foster is survived by her son, Kenneth (Barbara) Nunica of Michigan; grandson, Mathew (Julie) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; granddaughter, Maija (Edgar) Bejarano of Muskegon, Michigan; great-granddaughters, Grace and Shelby Foster and Iliana and Ariana Bejarano; and great-grandson, Edgar Emiliano "Milo" Bejarano. She is also survived by her sister-in law, Shirly Buelow of Little Valley; and special cousin, Elaine (Ken) Folkes of Sun City, Ariz.
Services were held in the chapel at the Lutheran Haven Nursing home and Assisted Living Facility, 1525 Haven Drive, Oviedo, Fla. on Tuesday (June 11, 2013), at 2 p.m.
