Delevan - Roy B. Osgood, of Route 16, Delevan, died Saturday (Aug. 3, 2013), at Buffalo General Hospital.
Born June 4, 1948, in Franklinville, he was the son of Roland and Onalee (Reynolds) Osgood. On April 28, 1973, in Humphrey, he married Kathryn Learn who died March 15, 1996. In 2006, he married Virginia Allen who survives.
He attended Ten Broeck Academy in Franklinville and was employed on the family farm until 1989. He also worked at Star Dell Products and Ontario Knife Company, both in Franklinville.
Osgood was a life-time member of the Humphrey Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years where he was Past Humphrey Fire Chief and held every office during his time there. He was also a life-time member of the Cattaraugus County Fire Chiefs' Association and was on the Cattaraugus County Fire Advisor Board for 18 years. He was also a member of the Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints Church, in Yorkshire.
Surviving besides his wife of Delevan are: two sons, Berdette "Bert" Osgood, of Franklinville, and Wayne Osgood, of Napoli; six grandchildren, Roland, Morgan, Marjorie, Roy James, Gage and Onalee Osgood; two brothers, Neal Osgood, of Ischua, and Danny Osgood, of Bliss; a former daughter-in-law, Dorothy Bieber, of Delevan.
