CLAIRTON, Pa. - Sheila K. Brown, of Clairton and formerly of Salamanca, passed away on Saturday (June 1, 2013), in her home.
Born March 17, 1947, in Cuba, N.Y., she was a daughter of the late Darwin and Doris (Drake) Brown. She was a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, in Pittsburgh, 2nd Ward of Jefferson Hills. She was a caregiver to Alzheimer and mentally challenged patients in her home in Salamanca and also Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island, Fla.
She is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Greg) Huffman, of West Plains, Mo.; a son, Doug (Natalie) Stroup, of Jefferson Hills; grandchildren, Eric Mohr of Bradford, Alexis Mohr of Bradford, Scarlet Huffman of West Plains, Mo., Shane Murtaugh of Jefferson Hills and Benjamin Stroup of Jefferson Hills; great-grandchildren, Sage Pierce, Lillyana Mohr and Caleb Murtaugh; a sister, Cheryl Williams of Chester, Idaho; brothers, David Brown of Lima, Peru and James Johnny John of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 7 at 3 p.m. in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Olean. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256.
