Lake City, Fla. - William G. Causebrook, 79, of Lake City Fla., passed away Nov. 16, 2013, in Haven Hospice after an extended illness.
Causebrook has been living in Florida for 43 years, after moving there from Little Valley. Then moving to Fort White, in 1971, he owned a 55-acre beef farm for 35 years before moving to Lake City.
He was a Lieutenant in the Reception Medical Center in Lake Butler, Fla. and then was a contractor for several years. He was also an avid golfer. He attended Little Valley Central School and got his GED at the prison while working there.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joy Engelhaupt Causebrook; a daughter, Sherry (Tom) Stills; two stepdaughters, Peggy (William) Crossfield, of Little Valley; and Katheleen (Wayne) Johnson, of Randolph; a son, Eddie (Mary) Causebrook; four grandchildren, LeWanda (David Paul) Kight, of Live Oak, Fla., Christopher Causebrook, Paula Causebrook and Alanna Causebrook. Step-grandchildren, Lynn Crossfield, Matthew Miller; great-grandsons, Zachary Miller, Corry Miller, Levi Kight; great-granddaughter, Ellie Walters. A brother, Robert (Laura) Causebrook, of Lake Wales, Fla.
He was predeceased by a son, William (Billy) Causebrook Jr.; a brother, John Causebrook; sisters, Irene Edwards, Katherine Wilkinson and Susan Pritchard; his parents, George and Bernice Causebrook, who passed away in 1993 and 1981; and a step-grandson, Chad Miller.
