Ellery - Calvin Wheaton, 74, of the Town of Ellery, passed away peacefully Sunday (Sept. 29, 2013), in his home.
He was born April 11, 1939, in Lackawana, the son of the late Noble and Mildred (DeNee) Wheaton.
He was a paratrooper in the United States Army Airborne from 1958-60, and prior to retirement worked for many years at SKF Bearings. Wheaton enjoyed hunting and fishing and will be missed by his dog Rosie.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, June (Childs) Wheaton; a son, Master Sgt. Ryan Wheaton USAF and his wife Ann-Marie of Rapid City, S.D.; a daughter, Renee (Sean) McMurtrey, of Fountain, Colo.; two grandsons, Tyler Wheaton and Cody Hillerby; one granddaughter, Caylie Hillerby; one grandchild on the way; his God children, Charlie, Loren, Chad, and Kimmy; two brothers, Robert Wheaton of Gowanda; Charles (Carol) Wheaton of East Otto; two sisters, Marcella Capron of Little Valley; Jeannette (Willis) Allen of Gowanda; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Rich and Jerry. A special thank you to Calvin's brother in law, Irv, for everything he has done.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Shirley Girt, Margaret Eicher, Mary Counter; and a brother John "Jack" Wheaton.
There will be no funeral service or visitation observed.
