OLEAN – Dorothy Oliverio, 88, formerly of Salamanca, died Wednesday (Nov. 14, 2012), at The Pines of Olean, following a long illness.

Born on Aug. 8, 1924, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian Pierce.
She was a former member of the Holy Cross Athletic Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars John F. Ahrens Post #5296 Women's Auxiliary and the American Legion Hughes-Skiba Post #535 Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed fishing, boating, spending time with her grandchildren and trips to Florida.
Surviving are: two sons, Richard (Jackie) Oliverio of Anaheim, Calif. and Daniel
(Rose) Oliverio of Salamanca; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth (Nancy) Pierce of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, David Rocco Oliverio; and two sisters, Thelma Pierce and Geraldine Pressley.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
