Napoli - Steven E. Raub Jr., 49, of Allegany Road, passed away Friday (Aug. 09, 2013), at home from an apparent heart attack.
He was born March 18, 1964, in Salamanca, the son of Steven E. Raub Sr. and Sharon E. (Austin) Raub.
Raub was a 1982 graduate of Little Valley Central School and was a self employed horse shoe farrier.
He enjoyed trail riding, horses, bull riding, bowling, playing croquet and volleyball. He coordinated a trail riding event following the 9/11 terrorist attacks to honor the lives lost. He also attended the Valley View Baptist Church in Little Valley.
Raub is survived by his mother, Sharon E. Raub, of Napoli, and father, Steven E. Raub Sr.; wife Tammy, of Hornell; a son, Dylan Raub, of Randolph; a sister, Shelley (Bob) Fish, of Little Valley; a brother, Travis Raub, of Hornell; nieces and nephews, Danyle Magiera, of Olean, Bob Magiera, of Indiana, Denise Twiggs, of Oregon, and Finn Raub, of Montana.
He was predeceased by two brothers, infant Shaun Raub and Scott Raub, in 2005; maternal grandparents, Maurice A. and F. Elizabeth (Swan) Austin; and paternal grandparents, Elmer and Lucy (Jackson) Raub.
The family received friends and family from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 13, 2013), in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church St., Randolph, N.Y., with funeral services following at 1 p.m. The Rev. Doyle, pastor of the Valley View Baptist Church, in Little Valley, will officiate. Inurnment was held the Little Valley Rural Cemetery.
