BUFFALO – Virginia "Ginny" Schuman, 83, of Salamanca, died peacefully on Monday (Sept. 3, 2012) at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.
Born on Dec. 24, 1928, in Glendora, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Franco and Madelina (Pisecco) Giuseppe. She was married on June 4, 1949, in Camden, N.J. to Frank "Bruds" Schuman, who predeceased her on Sept. 28, 2005.
Mrs. Schuman was previously employed at The Salamanca Press in Salamanca and she had co-owned King's Market in Great Valley.
She was a fantastic cook. She enjoyed gambling, bingo, and she loved being the life of the party.
Surviving are: two daughters, Suzanne Dietz and Sharon (James) Edwards, both of Salamanca; two sons, Steven Schuman of Fredonia and Scott Schuman of Salamanca; five grandchildren, Melanie (Jason) Hamilton of Cypress, Texas, Nicholas Fuller of Rochester, and Nolan Edwards, Kyler Edwards and Ashlee Schuman, all of Salamanca; two great-grandsons, Dakota Hamilton and Noah Hamilton, both of Cypress, Texas; a sister, Madalyn "Madge" Hempsey of West Depford, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Alice "Sis" Delano of Glendora, N.J.; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
She was predeceased by two sisters, Josephine Meyers and Frances Kramer.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Her Life to be held on Saturday (Sept. 15, 2012), at 6 p.m. at the Emerald Hills community room, 53 Eagle St., Salamanca, N.Y.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y.
