Joseph R. Campbell
SALISBURY - Mr. Joseph Randall Campbell, 67, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Lib-erty Lane Hospice House at the VA Medical Center.
Born March 10, 1947, in Sal-isbury, he was the son of the late Gladys "Peg" Murph and James Les-lie Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a graduate of West Rowan High School, Class of 1965. He attended Catawba College before joining the U.S. Army.
He worked for Power Curbers for more than 30 years and Papco Paving for 10 years as a highway construction supervisor.
Mr. Campbell was a 32 degree Mason, a Shriner and member of the local Rotary Club. He enjoyed coaching Little League, rebuilding vehicles, was a fan of many things including: Dale Earnhardt, NASCAR, LSU football, the Atlanta Braves, NCSU, duck hunting and was an avid outdoorsman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Grace Beasley Campbell; sisters Patsy Hartley and Cathy Hagaman; special niece and nephew Lane Hartley, Leslie Hartley; also Randi Sheridan, Cam Garrison; and his loving dog and friend, Ailee.
Arrangements: Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18 at Summersett Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. David Adams of Harkers Island, N.C., officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the US National Cemetery.
Memorials: May be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 3343 Peachtree Road NE, #M20, Atlanta, GA 30326; or to the donor's choice.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the VA Medical staff and especially the caregivers and friends at Liberty Lane Hospice House and caregiver, Michael Fletcher.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Grace and Randy's family. I worked with Randy for several years at Power Curber's and remember him as a kind and caring man. He served his country and community with honor and distinction. He will be missed!

My heart is heavy knowing that Randy has left this world behind---heavy for Grace, Pat, Ronnie, Bill and all of the family. But I am praising God for His love and mercy for I know that Randy is no longer suffering. In fact, I bet his is singing with the angels. All that knew you loved you Randy. You were a very special husband, brother, friend. We will miss you!

Wes and I are sad to hear that Randy has left this earth. He has endured and beaten more challenges than we know. I was present for Randy and Grace's wedding, a wonderful event. God bless and help Grace in her great loss.
