SALISBURY - Betty Dillon Morgan, 78, of Salisbury, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family.

Betty was born on Sept. 11, 1934 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late James R. and Grace Owens Dillon. Betty attended Cleveland High School, was a homemaker and gardener and also a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brother, James R. Dillon, Jr.

Survivors include her husband of over 60 years, Owen Leon Morgan, whom she married on Sept. 20, 1952; son, Ricky Gene Morgan and wife Shannon of Salisbury; daughters, Gail M. Morgan and husband Jim, and Nancy M. Barton and husband Jeff both of Salisbury; sisters, Rachel Pinkston and Mildred Hill both of Salisbury; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Services: Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church of Rockwell, conducted by Rev. John Houghton, Pastor. Burial will follow at Brookhill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Powles Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
